Barack Obama, A Second Term? I Say Yes.

I do believe that our president does deserve a second term, due to the simple fact that he does read memos! Remember that 911 could have been thwarted if the Bush administration had acted on the intelligence gathered by the CIA. This intelligence told them of several men linked to Al Qaeda taking flying lessons here in the US and much more. The Bush administration lied to America saying they did not get the memos. Later it was proven that they did and simply did not act upon them. This begs the question Why? Were they out on the golf course and just did not have time to deal with national security issues? Were they to busy with little interns pleasuring them under their desks? This is certainly a valid question, I’d say, given the past behaviour of our so called commander and chiefs, Or is Mr. Michael Moore correct in stating that it was all about having a reason to get into Iraq for the oil, and that to the Bush administration, American lives were expendable? We will probably never know, but certainly we deserved to know why. With tax payer dollars going to support an organisation such as the CIA and CIA agents risking their lives to bring us such intelligence, Certainly we the American public deserved more than lies and evasions?

I believe in America. I believe in the goodness of individual Americans. Americans have proven themselves in all natural or man made disasters to be willing to aid and assist there fellow Americans as well as any in need in other countries through our many charitable and humanitarian organisations. This was evident during Katrina. The government was late showing up with any aid, but the individual American citizens wasted no time in assisting.

I believe our present president, is more one of us, a good individual American concerned with America's health, and has wasted no time working on the issues. Our president has inherited the burden of cleaning up a mess left by past presidents that have been so bent on wealth and pleasure for themselves and contracts for their own big business concerns that yes it will take another term to make noticeable progress on all issues. It will be a slow recovery for us, and health care should top the list, but national security trumps them all because with out it progress in other areas cannot be enjoyed. And at least we know that our present president will not be asleep at the helm when it comes to national security. He will read memos and consult with the military and National intelligence agencies to plan counter measures to any threat. And Let us pray that any such threats will be successfully averted. We must remember that on 911, 3000 Lives were lost and we were then shortly plunged into a war on terror that continues on now with loss of life every day BECAUSE MEMOS WERE IGNORED. We can not afford the slovenly ways of any new administration like that of the Bush administration that could blatantly lie after an attack such as 911 and absurdly state that they “Did Not Get The Memos!”

I totally agree with you. President Obama did what he said he would in Afghanistan and capturing Bin-Laden. He's tackled the domestic issues and the economy is growing though slowly. He deserves a second term. Great Hub.

President Barack Obama definitely does need a second term. We can not afford for someone else to come in and disturb the progress of the country.

It seems like the main reason progress is so slow and difficult and public opinion is so bad is because of all the determined opposition on the far right. Sometimes, it seems like our representatives will do anything for a re-election, including holding up progress and performing deliberate sabotage just so that they can later blame any train wreck they create on the president and subsequently retake the White House. I hope voters are smart enough to see right through it. We need another term!

Considering the challenges he has faced and what he has done for the nation, President Obama is definitely a two-term President.
